surface treatment
Surface treatment (OB) is a method for road maintenance and rehabilitation, right through to pavement construction - making it our all-rounder, so to speak! There is almost nothing it can't do! Thanks to its many possible combinations, such as multiple layers, double OB or OB with chippings, OB can be used for a wide range of applications and can therefore be utilised for a variety of customer requirements. The principle is generally similar. A new, very thin layer is applied to the existing road surface, the surface is sprayed with a binding agent and then gritted with an aggregate. In Germany, crushed natural stone is used for gritting. Particularly when using light-coloured types of stone, the OB also serves as a reflective layer and thus inhibits the ageing of the underlying asphalt layers, as the temperature load can be reduced by up to 7 degrees.

Einfache OB
A simple surface treatment (OB) in road construction is a measure for repairing and maintaining roads. A new, very thin layer is applied to the surface of an existing road. This process is also suitable for the interim construction of roads. It is characterized by efficiency and cost-effectiveness and is often used on country, district and municipal connecting roads and farm roads.
Pre-cleaning: The substrate is cleaned to ensure perfect contact between the binder and the substrate.
Application of the binding agent: The binding agent is sprayed onto the substrate from a low height using ramp sprayers.
Chipping: Fine chippings are applied to the surface.
Rolling : The applied aggregate is rolled in to increase the adhesion between the individual grains and the binder.
Sweeping: This is done after about 4-7 days using a sweeper
