For over 115 years...
The history of the Süddeutsche Teerindustrie (Southern German tar industry) tells an impressive story full of challenges and successes. It all began in 1909, when a family of factory owners from Karlsruhe applied for a building permit and a business license for the “Dachpappenfabrik Adolf Homberger” (Adolf Homberger Roofing Felt Factory) in Malsch. At that time, Adolf Homberger was already operating a factory at Sophienstraße 146 in Karlsruhe, both plants with the same goal: the production of roofing felt and tar products.
