The patching process is a machine-based pothole repair method and thus a quick and cost-effective way of repairing road damage such as potholes, frost damage and cracks – but it can also be used as preparation for surface treatment. It is often used to restore traffic safety on roads and extend the service life of the road surface. The damaged area is filled with a mixture of bitumen emulsion and grit. The patching process is particularly effective because it allows the repaired areas to be driven on quickly and increases the repair capacity per working day.
