Emulsions
The layer composite describes the connection between two asphalt layers, which prevents them from shifting under traffic loads. This significantly improves the service life and resistance of asphalt pavements. This connection consists of interlocking and bonding. Effective interlocking is achieved when the lower layer (substrate) is sufficiently rough. The layers are bonded using a binding agent such as bitumen emulsion. This connection is crucial to prevent movement between the layers under stresses caused by climate and traffic. A layer composite that meets the requirements is a prerequisite for a long service life of the road surface.

ESTOL® CalcProtect
ESTOL CalcProtect is a concentrated calcium hydroxide suspension. It is used in layer composites and asphalt reinforcement and ensures less surface stickiness, which reduces the bleeding of the bitumen emulsion and protects the actual layer composite.
